Assess your own engagement

The following criteria are a quick assessment of your own levels of engagement at work. (As you’re doing it by yourself please be as honest and non judgemental as you can.  There are no right or wrong answers.  Just a baseline to give you a clue where you might want to focus to improve.)

Note: On the scale of 0-10, 0 is low and 10 is high.

  1. Name 4 aspects of who you are that YOU choose to contribute to YOUR job.  (For example: straight talking, gentle, well-organised, spontaneous)
  2.  On a scale of 0-10, how would you rate your coaching skills right now?
  3. When did you last hold a powerful conversation that improved another’s level of engagement?
  4. On a scale of 0-10, how well do you think your staff know what makes you tick?
  5. Give 2 or 3 words that for you would describe your ideal climate of engagement.  (For example: businesslike -formal – tidy; relaxed – easy-going – great relationships; bustle – trust – chatter; apparent chaos – untidy – noisy)
  6. Based on what you’ve said above, on a scale of 0-10, how would you rate your current climate of engagement?
  7. How do you describe your organisation to relatives, friends and acquaintances in your life?
  8. On a scale of 0-10, how passionate are you about engagement and what’s the evidence?
